YAKIMA, Wash. -- A knife wielding transient accused of stealing cash and property from a Yakima convenience store was taken into custody Sunday.
Yakima police responded to reports of a robbery at the 2nd Street Market just before 11:30 a.m.
Police say a witness who was driving in a jeep had followed the suspect, as he was trying to get away on a bicycle.
Officers quickly tracked down and arrested the suspect in the area of S. 6th Street and E. Spruce.
Eugene Garth Williams was booked into the Yakima County jail for first and second degree robbery charges.
