WALLA WALLA, Wash.—The controversy over the large octopus painting over the Inland Octopus Toy Store in downtown Walla Walla continues.
Saturday a support rally was held outside the shop. More then 100 people rallied to show their support for not only the octopus painting but also the owner of the toy store.
This rally comes after the City of Walla Walla issued the owner, Bob Catsiff, a notice of civil violation stating the painting is a sign and not a mural. He now is fined $100 for each day the painting is up.
Supporters say they want the octopus to stay and support Catsiff in his decision to keep the painting. At the rally they gathered money to help Catsiff pay for the fines.
November 18th is Catsiff's hearing to discuss whether the painting is a sign or mural. He has hired an attorney.
