PASCO, Wash.—Every Christmas season hundreds of families in the Tri-Cities don't have the money to pay for food or presents but there is help available. The Salvation Army offers Christmas Assistance every year.
Last year families were turned away because the Salvation Army didn't have enough toys and food for everyone. This year they plan to help 650 families; 100 more than last year.
Families have to meet the income guidelines and if they qualify distribution will be sometime in December.
Each family will get a box of food and one toy for each child 12 years old and younger.
To sign-up you will need the following: Picture ID Proof of each child's birthday date Documents showing income and all monthly expenses
Salvation Army employees say even though it is only November, parents have to think about Christmas now.
You can still sign up Nov. 3rd, 4th and 5th at Pasco Social Services from 8:30-11am and from 1-4pm. Pasco Social Services is located at 310 N. 4th Ave. in Pasco.
