KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Many people are already preparing for what they hope to be a great ski/snowboard season.
Steve McConnell from Sporthaus in Kennewick says lots of people are already starting to come to his shop for everything from tune-ups to brand new equipment. He also says the upcoming la nina winter isn't the only thing that has some of his customers excited for the season.
"I think this is a year for excitement. There's a lot of things going on with the weather, the predictions are good for lots of snow. Ski Bluewood sold so there's energy there. White Pass has the expansion open. So there's a lot of excitement for skiing this year," says McConnell.
He also says most resorts try to open by Thanksgiving, but many people are hoping more snow could prompt them to open even sooner than that.
