Return of housing affordability

KENNEWICK, Wash. - A new report shows the Washington housing market continues to get better.

According to an independent research firm, Michael Luis and Associates, Washington housing has not been this affordable since 1999. The results are based off of three components. Those include: prices of homes, how much people made and interest rates.

Marketing Specialist, Paul Roy, from Coldwell Banker Tomlinson says if you are looking to buy, then now is the time.

"If you don't look at that opportunity today, in the next coming years, as the recovery continues, you may be one of those people saying wow, I wish I would have bought back then," said Roy.

The Tri-Cities has been the one area of the state with consistently affordable housing.  Even as the population of the area and with continued population growth here in the Tri-Cities, builders are expecting more housing. And experts says this area will remain one of the housing bright spots in the state.
