Cancer survivor and co-workers celebrate anniversary

KENNEWICK, WA- A woman and her co-workers celebrated a one-year anniversary Friday.

It has been one year since Laurie Swindler has been cancer free following surgery.

Swindler and her co-workers at Center Vision are accepting donations for breast cancer research.

Her co-workers say Swindler never allowed her fight against cancer affect her work or her positive attitude, though Swindler describes the past year as "Rocky, but positive because of family, friends, co-workers."

Dr. Aaron Banta also agreed to shave his head bald in support of the fundraiser.

Center vision is also donating a portion of Friday's sales to the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation.
