Halloween safety tips

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.—The Halloween celebrations started Friday night and will continue throughout the weekend.

Police say so far things have been pretty quiet, but they do have a few reminders.

If you have children trick-or-treating it is best to wear costumes with reflective tape or stickers, carry a flashlight, and walk across the street instead of running.

If you are driving this weekend, drive slowly until about 9:30pm when trick-or-treating is most popular.  Make sure you are not distracted, that means do not use cell phones, play with radio stations or take your eyes off the road.

Have a safe and happy Halloween.
