Top 5 Local Sports Plays of the WeekPosted: Updated:
Here are your top 5 plays from this past week in local sports:
5.) We start in Richland with the Bombers 4A district championship game against Chiawana. Bria Caldwell in the second half jumped over one Riverhawk defender... then spun away from another in route to a great dish to Kirsten Calmus. From there Calmus cashed in from point blank range to help lead the Bombers to a 3-1 victory, and a district crown.
4.) On the ice Saturday night Tri-City played host to Prince George and its potent offense. Already up 1-0 in the first period... the Cougars looked poised to add on until Drew Owsley flashed some leather. Prince George on a odd man rush spotted Charles Inglis on the door step, but Owsley kept the door closed with a great save.
3.) Under the Friday night lights at River View high, running back Chance Watt put some moves on visiting Connell. Watt on a draw shook off numerous tacklers on his 30 plus yard run that took him inside the five yard line.
2.) At the Lamp Friday night, Kamiakin's Tim White had his return game on. On the ensuing kickoff after Eastmont took a safety, White busted a move through open lanes and into the end zone.
1.) This one is for all you trick or treaters. Prosser wrapped up its 22nd league title in 24 years in style Friday night. QB T.J. Finn flips it to wide out Ryan Fassler on the reverse, who tosses it down field to a wide open Dominic Garza for the touchdown. Trick or Treat everyone on play number one.
