WALLA WALLA, Wash.—We've been following the controversy over the huge painting over the Inland Octopus Toy Store in downtown Walla Walla.
Fines now total about $2,000. The City imposed daily fines on the owner saying it's a sign and not a mural.
A petition is now circulating and about 1,300 people are already supporting the store owner.
"It's completely overwhelming the number of supporters and the percentage of support is just something I never really anticipated, of course I never really anticipated it being so much of a struggle, but it's refreshing to see everyone coming to my side," says Bob Catsiff, store owner.
Every day the painting is up is a $100 fine. Catsiff is taking the City to court November 18th.
