Man & woman robbed after trying to help stranded car

BASIN CITY, Wash. - Franklin County Sheriff's deputies say a couple was robbed this morning. About 6:30 a man and woman from Connell say they were driving a gold Ford Explorer down Hendricks Road just off Sagehill Road, a few miles north of Basin City. They came across another man and woman on the side of the road in a car with its hazard lights flashing. The couple in the Explorer stopped and got out to help. They say that's when the man on the side of the road pulled out a gun, and his companion showed a knife. The armed couple forced the victims to go behind a nearby haystack, made them get on their knees and robbed them, even making the female victim take off her clothes. The robbers took cash from the victims, one drove off in their original car and the other stole the victim's SUV . The couple that was robbed was able to walk to a nearby dairy and called police. A search is on for the suspects, one was in a gold Ford Explorer with license plate number 028-ZKK, the other in a dark red or burgundy, four door car with hideaway headlights.  The male suspect is described as 5'10'' to 6'00 tall and of medium build.  The woman is described as around 5'00 to 5'4" tall and of medium build. If you have any information call the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
