KENNEWICK, Wash.-- US Senate candidate Dino Rossi made one last push for voters in the Tri-Cities on Election Day.
The Republican, who's running against three-time incumbent Senator Patty Murray, was in Kennewick Tuesday morning. Representative Doc Hastings, who's being challenged by democrat Jay Clough, was also there. Rossi, Hastings, and their supporters waved signs on the corner of Canal Drive and Columbia Center Boulevard.
Rossi says, "We feel great. There are a number of polls that say we're ahead, but polls don't mean anything. We actually have to get people to sign the envelope and get it back either in the mail or post-marked today or drop it off at the drop off boxes. That's what really counts is we got to get all the final votes in now, but we feel great."
"We have had so many volunteers throughout this part of the state. I know Dino [Rossi] has volunteers all over the state, that's going to be the deciding point. That's why the message is every vote counts and today is the day to make sure your ballots get in."
Rossi will be on the west side Election Night and says he plans to have a nice, quiet family dinner after results are released.
Hastings will be at the Shiloh Inn in Richland for a public election watch party.
