Teacher accused of sexual contact with a student may get her job back
YAKIMA, Wash- Michele Taylor may be getting her job back. Tuesday a judge ruled that the East Valley School District did not have probable cause to keep the P. E. teacher from returning to work.
The East Valley School District moved to fire Taylor last November after she was accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student and sending him and another student sexual text messages. She has been on paid administrative leave since then.
In June, Taylor was acquitted on the criminal charges of inappropriate contact with a minor. However the school district maintains that Taylor violated school policy by texting a student. Taylor says the messages she sent were not sexual, but that she was trying to help the boys.
In a statement released this afternoon, the East Valley School District says they will review the judge's ruling to determine if they have grounds for an appeal.
