YAKIMA, Wash. -- A small airplane skidded down the runway with its landing gear up at the Yakima airport, just before noon Tuesday.
The plane came down at McAllister field.
Yakima firefighters said pilot error caused the Mooney aircraft to land on its belly.
The plane slid about 900 feet before coming to a stop.
Two aircraft fire fighting and rescue vehicles responded to the incident. Firefighters checked and found no fluid leaks from the airplane.
No one was hurt.
The runway was closed for about an hour while airport crews removed the plane.
