KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A official welcome sign for the city of Kennewick is finally complete.
The welcome sign, which is located along highway 395, took a little more than two months to complete.
Dean Maldonado of Miranda construction says the delay in the completion of the wall is connected to wanting to give the most authentic look possible.
The wall cost between $40-$45,000, and the city of Kennewick contributed a portion of those funds from a grant.
Miranda also says the wall may also get solar panels or lights to eluminate the wall at night.
The folks from Miranda construction are talking to city leaders to see if the lights can be budgeted.
