"Soap for Hope" campaign kicks off to bring hygiene items to the needy
YAKIMA, Wash- Many take things like washing our face and brushing our teeth for granted. However some in need don't have access to hygiene items like shampoo and soap.
AAA's "Soap for Hope" campaign is trying to do something about this. They're asking people to donate their unused and unopened toiletry items. They will then distribute them to those in need via local shelters, food banks and other charities. Specifically they're hoping for things like soap, conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, razors, hairbrushes, and deodorant.
In Yakima donations may be dropped off at the AAA Yakima office at 2301 West Nob Hill Blvd. Donations made there will benefit the Yakima Union Gospel Mission and YWCA battered women's program.
In the Tri Cities you can donate at the office at 6501 West Grandridge Blvd. in Kennewick. Donations made at this office will benefit Domestic Violence Treatment Services of Franklin County.
