Columbia Center Blvd and Deschutes Ave called a dangerous intersection
KENNEWICK, Wash., -- A collision happened in Kennewick Sunday morning around 10am. Officer Michelle Pitts says Deschutes Avenue and Columbia Center Blvd. is one of the most dangerous intersections in the city. She said people run red lights on it all the time and that's what happened today.
"The other vehicle ran the light, T-boned another driver on her side. One of the vehicles actually ended up almost into the left turn lane, in the wrong direction, and the suspect vehicle stopped right on Columbia Center Drive," says Pitts. She said the girl who was hit was lucky to be alive.
The driver's side of the car was completely smashed and her school books were thrown all over the road. She was taken to Kadlec Medical Center and released with minor injuries. The driver of the other car was cited for running a red light and driving without insurance. He walked away with a bloody nose.
