UNION GAP, Wash. -- Washington State Department of Transportation crews are wrapping up on the I-82 Valley Mall Boulevard Project for the year.
Mike Westbay, WSDOT Region Communications Manager told KNDO Monday, that two of the three roundabouts from I-82 to Main Street in Union Gap have been completed and are now open to drivers.
Westbay said DOT crews should have the new Valley Mall eastbound on and off ramps finished by Wednesday, November 17.
The project is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Crews will resume work on the third roundabout and westbound on and off ramps by early next Spring.
The new roundabouts may require a learning curve for some drivers. DOT has added a "How to Drive a Roundabout" on their web site. To view the information on roundabouts click http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/safety/roundabouts/.
