YAKIMA, Wash. -- The driver accused of running a stop sign in last week's fatal accident on Brownstown Road appeared in court Monday.

Nicole Jim, 28, of Wapato faces vehicular homicide charges for the death of Juan Garcia Mendoza, 25, of White Swan.

The judge ordered Kim's bail remain at $50,000.

Kim is being held at the Yakima County jail.

A second person was injured in the accident. Troopers said Joel Burdeau, 23, of Yakima had been taken to a hospital in Toppenish.

Nicole Jim's next court date is scheduled for November 22.

Meanwhile, Washington State Patrol is handling the investigation into this accident. A spokesperson for WSP believes alcohol may've been factor in Friday's fatal crash.
