PASCO, Wash. -- Governor Christine Gregoire has appointed David "Duke" Mitchell as the newest member of the Columbia Basin College Board of Trustees.

Mitchell graduated from the Air Force Academy, served in the Air Force for more than 20-years, has a master's degree and has worked at Hanford as a financial analyst for the last 17-years.

He's replacing Wayne Martin, who's been a trustee since 2000, whose term has expired.

"Well obviously it's a real honor and I'm thankful I was selected.  Hopefully I can do some good things to help CBC continue the great performance it's had and will have in the future," said Duke Mitchell.

Duke's father, C.J. Mitchell, is a past CBC Board of Trustees member, plus, Duke's son has taught several history courses at CBC in recent years.

Trustees are appointed for five year terms and can be reappointed.
