YAKIMA, Wash-- The Yakima Valley will be getting 12,000 extra education and the money will go straight to classrooms to fund special projects.
Earlier this year we told you about the US Cellular "Calling all teachers" program where teachers got a chance to request classroom materials or projects through the website, donors choose.org. In February the same program awarded $100,000 Robert Lince Elementary School in Selah.
This time around, 16 teachers in Yakima County are sharing the$12,000 of project funding. Those projects are expected to benefit over a thousand students in districts including Yakima, Selah, Sunnyside and White Swan.
