Tri-City Americans: Shinnimin Could Return Saturday
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans wrapped up their last practice Thursday before taking off for a two game roadie this weekend.
Joining the team on this trip will be Brendan Shinnimin, whose eligible to return from his 12-game suspension this Saturday at Spokane.
Shinnimin, if you recall, was suspended for a hit on a Saskatoon player back on October 6th.
He's been practicing with the team during his suspension but has not been able to be a part of the game day action.
"It's been pretty tough on both sides," said Shinnimin. "Obviously, when you're winning you want to be out there to feel the excitement and the fun they've been having. At the same time, when they are losing, you want to be out there to give them the extra push and help out some."
"He's going to be excited," said Ams Head Coach Jim Hiller. "He's such a competitive player. He will be ready to go. It's going to take a little time for him to get acclimated to the speed of the game, the physicality. You just can't replicate that in practice."
"I think [he should] just take it slow," said Ams Captain Kruise Reddick. "[He should] try to get engaged early and get a hit, get a couple of shots on net and he'll be just fine."
The Ams play Friday night at Everett and then Saturday at Spokane.
