BENTON CITY, Wash. -- Kiona-Benton High School gave a special "thank you" to veterans Friday. Students, staff, fellow veterans, and members of the community packed the school auditorium to honor men and women who sacrificed and continue to serve their country.
One of the honors was given to 86-year-old Richland veteran, Ross Baxter who served in World War II and Korea. He hopes young people learn something about the honor.
Baxter says, "they have to learn to respect the flag. The flag is the main thing that keeps us together. We can identify ourselves with that and honor it. They're getting so they aren't honoring the flag and it kind of worries me."
Veteran and state representative Brad Klippert was also honored.
