The Tri-City Americans trying to forget last year's success , and realize that this is a year when they must earn their success again. The reigning 2010 WHL Western Conference Champs, are starting to realize wins are not going to be handed to them.
This past weekend, Tri-City lost two games by a combined eight goals. Dropping the Ams to third place in the US division. On Monday, the team did some soul searching.
Head Coach Jim Hiller said his team has been, "a little hungover on some of that success and we're not as hungry as we were last year. We had a lot to prove last year a lot of players did. Some players this year for me so far have forgotten how hard that was last year. There's more to give and we have to flat out be hungrier."
Ams captain Kruise Reddick added, "right now ... It's hard to say ... It might just go back to that hangover from last year and how we were thinking, it just might be easier and things were going to be handed to us. That's definitely not the case. We are going to have to turn it around."
Ams center Brendan Shinnimin said, "We got to start doing the little things right ... I think if we come out and get a win under our belt things are going to turn around here. "
