Kennewick city leaders working on revitalization plan
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick city leaders are moving along with plans for the "Bridge to Bridge, River to Railroad" revitalization plan.
Monday night, the Kennewick Planning Commission met to prepare for their December 6th meeting when the public will have a chance to voice their opinions on the plan.
The plan calls for development that combines residential, employment, commercial and retail, all in the same neighborhood.
Greg McCormick/Kennewick Planning Director: "we're getting into the final stages of the public participation process. The planning commission will be reviewing it and forwarding the recommendation onto city council on the plan which probably take place in January," said Kennewick Planning Director Greg McCormick.
The project has been underway for more than a year now.
City leaders want to hear what the public thinks about the project.
"It's a very important piece of planning work the city's engaged in and the more public input and participation we can get, then obviously the planning commission and city council will have a much better basis to move ahead with the plan," said McCormick.
Again, the next chance for the public to speak is December 6th at a planning commission meeting.
