Kennewick church will host Thanksgiving a week early
KENNEWICK, WA- An awning. torn by the wind, won't stop this Thursday's Thanksgiving dinner at the Story Point Community Church in downtown Kennewick.
The church is holding the free potluck dinner a week before Thanksgiving so it can provide additional meals to people in need during the holidays.
"If your grandmother opened her front doors and said, 'Hey, we don't want just our immediate family, we want everybody to come," says Pastor Dan Martin. "It's a church potluck, but it's more than that. It's drawing everybody in, and saying, 'You're all welcome.Come eat with us.'"
The church will host two seatings, at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring some food to share.
You can also help stock the church's Compassion Closet, which provides clothes and non-perishable food for people in need throughout the year.
The Story Point Community Church is located at 220 W. Kennewick Avenue.
