KENNEWICK, Wash.--The Washington State department of Health says the number of adults who smoke has declined by 30 percent over the past decade.

The American Cancer Society says if you're still smoking, it's the day to quit. Its the 35th great American Smokeout.

The American Cancer Society says each year smoking causes 443,000 premature deaths. 49,000 of these deaths are a result of exposure to second hand smoke.

The American Cancer Society says if you try to quit today, it just might be the one that sticks.
