Christmas in Haiti - Need toys by November 25th
In January of this year the lives of the Haitian people were turned upside down. The earthquake that rocked their nation touched our hearts and compassion moved the church and the world. Unfortunately, when the media began to pull out, America people began to forget about Haiti and the people that have so badly needed our aid. Bishop Jeune still has over 20,000 people living on the grounds of Grace Village with no real time table for them being restored to permanent housing. What is being done at Grace Village is nothing short of miraculous. What we want to do is help give the children on the grounds there a Christmas – welcome to project MISSION GRACE!
It is as simple as this: for each child we are asking for one toy, and two personal items. For example that could be a toy car and a toothbrush and toothpaste for a boy, a doll and hair bows or socks for a girl. Simple things make a huge difference. We then need the items placed into a zip lock bag (gallon size) and labeled boy or girl and shipped by November 25th to World Life Christian Center in Pasco. This will give us plenty of time to ship the materials to the Grace Village. If you would rather help monetarily – $5 will take care of one child and we will buy the items in bulk helping us get the most for each dollar donated. Please help us… there are over 15,000 children on the grounds and we need your assistance!
I personally can't imagine not having a home and not knowing when my family would ever get back in one again. This does affect us because it affects our brother and we cannot turn our backs on those that are in need. We here in Pasco are organizing a community event in order to make a difference. Our little can do a lot when we put it together!
