CONNELL, Wash. -- When Connell running back Matt Hadley gets the football, he has got his eyes on the prize, the end zone.
He has gotten to the promised land quite frequently this season with 34 touchdowns and almost 2,000 yards rushing.
This Saturday, the junior will look to help lead the Eagles into the state semifinals when they take on Chelan.
Hadley says beefing up this offseason has made him an even better back this year.
"I put on a few pounds and my whole mentality is a lot more running downhill, lowering my shoulders into guys," said Hadley. I got that few extra pounds that'll really help out."
"He's a horse, man," said Connell Head Coach Wayne Riner. "The guy is just a horse. He's going to give you everything he's got every week. He's just a great player. I tell him all the time. I'm glad he's on my team and I don't have to prepare for him."
