PASCO, Wash. -- Chiawana is gearing up for a huge test in the form of the Ferris Saxons.
The Saxons, in 2 playoff games, are averaging 41 points against Big 9 opponents. Ferris can flat out score and the Riverhawks know it.
Chiawana is hard at work this week for an offensive showdown. Chiawana understands it cannot afford a slow start like it had against Newport a week ago.
"I think we probably weren't used to playing on Saturday during the day so we came out a little slow," said Chiawana Running Back Jordan Downing. "I wouldn't say slow but as full tempo as we usually are. But, I think we'll be used to it and be ready to go this Saturday."
"We have got to be ready to go from the get-go," said Chiawana Head Coach Steve Graff. "We can't start slow against these guys. Everybody that has started slow against them has had a 30 spot put on them to start the game. We don't want that to happen. "
Chiawana and Ferris Saturday at 1pm at Edgar Brown.
