Prosser Focused on on Winning 6th State Title

PROSSER, Wash. -- At the beginning of every season, the Prosser Mustangs have a goal of winning a state title. So far, they've won 5 in the school's history.

The Mustangs hope to inch closer to a 6th crown this Saturday. Prosser is taking on East Valley of Spokane in the 2A state quarterfinals at Lampson Stadium. Game time set for 4pm.

This week Coach Benji Sonnichsen has been preaching that these are the moments that define football careers.

"The games you remember are played in November and the games you remember are played in December," said Sonnichsen. "That's what we preach here is you are going to remember these games. Just have fun, play free, but you'll remember these games and so make it meaningful."

"A lot of guys are pumped," said running back Isaac Anderson. "We're ready to go. We don't want to lose. We're not going to lose."

"We're going in thinking this could be our last game," said quarterback T.J. Finn. "We want to have a good week of preparation and go in and play as hard as we can."
