Troopers release names of victims in double fatal accident

Posted: Updated:

NEAR COWICHE -- Washington State Patrol Troopers have released the names of two victims who died in a car crash Monday morning.

59 year old Larry Morris and 58 year old Myra Morris, of Tieton, were driving westbound on Summitview Avenue, just north of Cowiche. Troopers say they slid on snow and ice and went into the eastbound lanes. Their car hit a vehicle driven by 57 year old Lydia Acevedo, of Yakima.  She was taken to Yakima Regional Medical Center and released after treatment

Myra and Larry Morris were pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say this does not appear to be a case of reckless driving.  On the contrary, it seems the Morris' were trying to be careful before they crashed.
