PROSSER, Wash. - It's the talk of the town. The city of Prosser shocked after a body was found behind the high school Saturday night.
Prosser Police and the Benton County Sheriff's Department is investigating the case. Benton County coroner identifies the body as 21 year old River Saenz. The autopsy reports say Saenz died from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Prosser detectives say at this point they have no person of interest but are interviewing people for leads. Friends of Saenz learned about the tragedy Sunday and say he was a good person."He wasn't a trouble maker he just liked to have friends and have fun," said Miguel Gomez, Saenz' close friend.
For the people of Prosser this homicide comes as a surprise. "The whole town is just shocked about the incident, it's just such a rare thing." said Lore Summers, Prosser resident. "For the citizens here it's shocking because we hear about it everywhere else and it doesn't ever happen here," said Jennifer Rice, Prosser resident.
