PASCO, Wash. -- Three people were injured, including a State Patrol Trooper, in an accident North of Pasco Tuesday morning.

The Washington State Patrol says it happened near Highway 395 and Foster Wells Road around 10:40 AM. A couple was waiting inside a trooper's car for a tow truck after they spun into the median. As the three were waiting, a pickup truck lost control and rear-ended the trooper's patrol car.

The 56 year old woman was seriously injured. Her husband, and the state trooper were also injured.

Southbound lanes were closed until about 2:30 PM. Lanes are back open.

The State Patrol's Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating, but it appears to be a weather-related accident.
