Tri-Cities Union Gospel filled on cold winter nights
PASCO, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission in Pasco has been operating at capacity for several months, but it's getting even busier with the snow and low temperatures. Assistant Executive Director Andrew Porter says many people who came in today have been sleeping outside until now. The shelter only has 45 available beds, but Monday night, they had 102 people who showed up to stay the night. The rest stayed on foam mattresses.
"Everybody over 45 sleeps on the floor at night. About 40 of them or so will sleep on the Chapel floor, and the rest will sleep right here in the hallway," says Porter.
Porter says the best way to help out is by donating to the Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission, and you can do so by clicking here.
