Yakima Valley Pet Rescue helping local animals find homes

Posted: Updated:

UNION GAP, Wash. – Members of the Yakima Valley Pet Rescue spent their Saturday afternoon trying to find new homes for local kittens at Petco.

Each weekend they spend a few hours taking applications for potential owners of animals who need a new home. Some adoptions can be completed the same day. These events are part of the group's larger mission.

"What we do is we re-home animals," said Natasha Holder. "basically we re-home animals from ferrets to horses."

The group primarily takes in dogs and cats. These animals are either strays or have been given up by their previous owners.

YVPR is at Petco every Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can also learn more about adopting or supporting the group at www.yvpr.org.
