KENNEWICK, Wash.—Friends and family are stunned and mourning the loss of three people in a multi-car accident.

26-year-old Marco DeLamora was driving the wrong way on I-82 near Badger Road in dense fog Sunday night when he hit a car with a family of three inside.  27-year-old Heather Davidson and the father of her child 30-year-old Stephen Metzger died along with DeLamora.  Davidson's 3-year-old son survived.  He was taken to Sacred Heart in Spokane and is in satisfactory condition as of Monday.

Family and friends of Davidson say they are in shock.
"When you know someone that young and then there's an automobile accident that happens it makes it very difficult that's for sure," says Joan Seip, neighbor.

State Patrol Troopers found Davidson's 2004 Mazda 3 completely crushed.

"Heather was a good daughter.  She was very kind and compassionate.  She was very friendly," says Kathyleen Casey, neighbor.

Troopers say DeLamora had been driving the wrong was for a few miles before the crash.  In total, five vehicles were involved.  The highway was closed for about five hours.  Troopers are investigating why the man was driving the wrong way.
