Let's talk 3A state championship football. Snow has forced Kamiakin to practice indoors this week. The Braves are preparing for their toughest test this season. Two time defending state champ in Bellevue.
A program that's won seven of the last nine state crowns. Kamiakin is well aware of Bellevue's pedigree, but remains confident it can win Friday's 3A state championship game.
Defensive coordinator Tim Maher said, "It is what it is there's no doubt about it this is an unbelievable high school football program. This is Texas style football in Washington. We can't let this game be bigger than what it really is... It's huge. It's big. But we need to go in there with a degree of pride of what we've already got accomplished."
Starting quarterback, Senior Joey Jansen added, "There just another high school team. They're a good program, but so are we. I think we have a good shot."
Head coach Scott Biglin said, ""From a competitors stand point I wouldn't play anyone else but Bellevue. It's going to be a challenge and a fun task ahead."
