Kennewick Girls Sign on Dotted Line

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A couple of Kennewick Lions signed to play at colleges next year.

Seniors Kaytlyn Coleman and Ashlen Ayres posed for photos Thursday morning as both signed on the dotted line. Coleman is the daughter of athletic director Ron Coleman. She will play volleyball next fall for Lewis and Clark State. Ayres will play softball for North Idaho College.

"It is a big relief off my shoulders" said Ayres. "It was just an awesome feeling once I said I want to go to your school and they were like, yeah! I was very excited too. I know that all the girls came up to me and they're like, oh, you signed, that's awesome."

"It's nerve racking," said Coleman. "It's so many emotions all the time. Every time I think about it, just think about going to college next year, I never thought that it would happen and it is. So, yeah, it's a good feeling. I like it."
