Toppenish, WA- The Rail and Steam Museum in Toppenish has a unique way for people to get into the holiday spirit. Their annual Toy Train Christmas event kicked off today. They've filled their museum with model trains, a craft area, hot chocolate and cookies and caboose rides to take pictures with Santa. Toy trains aren't too common around Christmas trees anymore but that's not stopping them.
"Most of the young people are using some sort of technology tool or toy, that they're playing with. We want people to think of how maybe it used to be in Christmas past", says Mary O'Dell a co-chair of the event.
The Toy Train Christmas event is open weekends through December 19. Admission is six dollars for adults and four dollars for children. Pictures with Santa are an additional charge. For more information call 509-865-1911.
