If you blinked in the second half, there's a good chance you missed someone scoring. Washington's 1A state championship game between Connell and Cascade Christian was as good as advertised. The two meeting up for the second year in a row in the state title game. The Eagles winning the previous title bout, 28-7.
This time around, Connell could not find a way to slow down Cascade Christian. A team making its third straight title game appearance, without winning a championship. In the second half both teams moved the ball with ease, with the Eagles taking the lead 35-28 with just over 11 minutes to play on a James Coulson touchdown run.
From there Cascade Christian rallied to score 14 unanswered points to win 42-35. Connell's bid at a repeat falls short.
