PASCO, Wash. -- The Florida creator of Bahama Bay (the soon-to-be-built Pasco water park) is in the Tri-Cities this week. Creator Jim Hale says he's right on track.
He says more than 200 full-time jobs will be created on the almost 28 acres of land. Ground breaking is still expected to take place just off the Rd. 100 exit on June 1st 2011.
Before building can start, Hale is still gathering funding and forming his design and development team. "As much as possible, we want to keep it local. Of course, there's specialties in this so we find those throughout the country. We'll be getting them together hopefully soon and we can work out a lot of the bugs and kinks we may have," said Hale.
Once his team is set, he plans to have a workshop in January for specialists to look over the water park layout and have a finalized design by March. The water park is expected to open Memorial Day 2012.
