This year's Holiday Shipping Season best in recent years
PASCO, Wash.- Federal Express predicts Monday will be the busiest 24 hours in its history, and this holiday shipping season to be the best in several years.
The increase in people trying to find the perfect present online has likely led to the rise in shipping.
Employees at the shipping center next to the Pasco airport have been working ten to 20 hours of overtime a week, since the start of December.
"Years ago you would see our peak start the week of Thanksgiving and run through, then it kind of dwindled down to just two weeks before Christmas. This month it started a little earlier," says Operational Manager Spencer Roth.
Roth says deliveries in residential areas have doubled from what they are normally and business routes have tripled.
