The Americans had a successful weekend in their home and home series with Seattle. The Thunderbirds were no match for the Ams explosive offense. Tri-City collecting nine goals in the two wins against Seattle.
Netminder Drew Owsley had a solid two nights, allowing just two goals on 48 shots. The two wins has the Ams feeling confident, and more importantly sitting in a tie for second place in the U.S. Division with arch rival Spokane.
Ams Captain Kruise Reddick said, "We can play with any team in the league... And we know we can beat any team in the league like we prove this weekend. So come out like we have the last two nights and play our game and not anybody else's. "
Head Coach Jim Hiller added, "Maybe the best weekend of the year that we had out of our, F-3 we call them... Our third forward. I think he was in a good position. So they didn't have a lot of odd man rushes coming through the neutral zone and we really helped our defense out with our forwards and our back check positions. So I think that's where it started, and from there we defended it pretty well and I think Owsley made some pretty big saves when he needed to."
