RICHLAND, Wash.—More than 2-million people worldwide now call a place home because of Habitat for Humanity. Monday the Tri-Cities Habitat for Humanity celebrated 70 homes in the region since 1994.
"Boy this is a milestone for us," says Theresa Richardson, Tri-Cities Habitat for Humanity Executive Director.
400,000 houses worldwide have been worked on by the organization creating homes for 2 million people. Eight families in the Tri-Cities were given affordable living through Habitat for Humanity in 2010.
The organization is planning to build more homes at the Tierra Vida development in Pasco January 2011.
Friday Habit for Humanity will have a special greeting for the family moving into their 70th home.
