Affidavit: Lusk sent text message to alleged victim
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- The Benton County Prosecutor says the former Prosser Mayor, accused of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy, recently sent the victim a text message, violating a no contact order.
In a court hearing Monday, Linda Lusk's attorney, Scott Johnson, said it was an accident. An affidavit Johnson filed says his client got a new phone number and texted all her contacts. The document says she later realized the boy was on that list and sent a follow up message apologizing. The affidavit also says the alleged victim sent a text to Lusk's daughter regarding the incident.
Also Monday, Lusk's attorneys said they may need to push her trial date back because one of their expert witnesses was involved in the Elizabeth Smart trial in Utah and may need more time to prepare for the Lusk trial.
