RICHLAND, Wash.—Christmas is almost here and for some they'll spend the holiday in the hospital, but this year patients will have a little extra holiday cheer.
A Christmas village created by Dennis Moore, a man who used to work at Jason Lee Elementary, is on display at Kadlec Medical Center. Moore passed away this past year, but before he died, he said he wanted the village to be where children and adults can enjoy the piece. Now stories of the Christmas village are spreading through the hospital.
Friends of Moore say every year he added a little more to the village. Everything was done by hand. On-lookers were amazed by the detail he was able to express in each piece.
"Well they all enjoy looking at it and so many of the people even the men talk about how their daughters had dollhouses," says Merle Lavender, Kadlec Volunteer
The Christmas Village is on display at Kadlec Medical Center's main entrance through the holidays.
