Tobacco Quit Line coaches now standing by to take your call
KENNEWICK, WA- If you're thinking about quitting smoking, the Washington Department of Health says you can double your chances of success by calling the Tobacco Quit Line.
The health department says more than 150-thousand smokers have contacted the call center since it opened ten years ago.
The center helps smokers trying to kick the habit develop a personalized quit plan.
"We'll spend time figuring out where they're at in this process," says quit coach Jessica Castle. "Where their willingness is to want to quit, basic information about tobacco use and history, and then we use that information to tailor a plan that works best for them."
The call center's quit coaches can also help with medications including nicotine patches and gum.
The number to the Tobacco Quit Line is 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
