Vandals slash Christmas display

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A Kennewick Christmas display was vandalized after the holiday. It happened Tuesday morning on the 100 block of 19th Avenue.

JR Vogtman says he woke up and found all five of his big, inflatable Christmas figures on the ground. He says someone came in the middle of the night and took a knife to the displays.

He did report it to police , and it's not the first time something like this has happened.

"We do it for everyone else. I've heard several times this year It's a tradition for everyone driving by. We want to continue to make it a tradition, but it becomes frustrating when you have situations like that," said Vogtman.

He tells KNDU the damage is about $400. He still plans to put up another Christmas display next year.
