Pooch & Pal Run postponed, but POPP fills in for New Year's morning
PASCO, WA- Organizers of a traditional New Year's Day run in the Tri-Cities have decided to wait until spring.
Dogs and their owners have been coming out early every New Year's Day for the past ten years to take part in the Pooch and Pal Run, but this year organizers say they'll hold the run when the weather is warmer and more people are more likely to want to go outside for the run.
If cold weather doesn't stop you, however, Pet Over Population Prevention will hold its annual 5K Thunder Run on New Year's morning.
The run is held at the cross-country running course in Pasco, and dogs are welcome to join their masters in the run.
Registration opens at 9 a.m. with the starting gun going off at 9:30 a.m. After the race, POPP will serve chili, pie, and ice cream.
The $7 entry will go to help find homes for stray animals.
