58 runners start the New Year off with a 5k in Pasco
PASCO, Wash. -- Many motivated folks started off the New Year with a 5k run. 58 runners got up bright and early Saturday for the 29th Annual Thunder Run at the Cross Country Running Course in Pasco.
Many even brought their dogs since the $7 registration fee went to benefit the Pet Over Population.
Bill and Judy Leahy have out on the The Pooch & Pal Run, but thanks to the weather they will be holding that race in the spring when it warms up.
One Runner, Mike Jansky has been doing the Thunder Run for the last 20 years in a diaper. He says, "it started years ago, I put on a diaper and carried snow shoes because one year we had a snow shoe division. .So I put on a diaper and carry snow shoes every year. It's just a good way to start, start a new time of the year.'
